The Dedicated Widget Experiment

The hypothesis behind the experiment was that simplifying access to the KYC (Know Your Customer) process would lead to more successful verifications. To test this, a widget was added to the main menu with statuses reflecting the verification stage: Initial document submission, under review, approved, or rejected. Players could navigate directly to the verification section to either submit documents or check their progress.

MVP Implementation

The Minimum Viable Product (MVP) involved a widget in the menu, indicating statuses like 'Documents Need Submission,' 'Under Review,' 'Approved,' and 'Rejected.' Successful verification turned the widget into a green check-marked menu item labeled “Verified.”

Experiment Findings

A split test compared a control group without the widget to a test group with the widget. After a month, results showed the test group had an 8% increase in users who submitted at least one document and an 11% increase in those completing verification. Re-submission rates rose by 4%, and verification time was reduced by 4%. Notably, 55% of the test group interacted with the widget, maintaining consistent results weekly.

Conclusion and Future Steps

The study concluded that simplifying KYC boosts verification and player value, with small UX changes substantially increasing conversion rates. Future improvements aim to enhance communication on document rejections via the widget, allowing players to address issues directly and streamline KYC completion.
