Manila Forum Puts Philippine iGaming in Focus

Complete iGaming and Inside Asian Gaming have released the full agenda for the first CiG iDEA Summit, scheduled for 14 September 2026 at Hilton Manila, Newport World Resorts. The event opens the 2026 IAG EXPO and is built as a senior-level B2B forum for operators, suppliers, regulators and investors.

The programme centres on the Philippines as PAGCOR continues rolling out its updated online gaming framework. That timing gives the summit immediate relevance for companies assessing market entry, compliance demands and partnership models in one of Asia-Pacific's most active regulated environments.

Programme Covers Entry, Localisation and Delivery Models

The opening keynote will come from PAGCOR Assistant Vice President of Remote Operations, Jessa Mariz R. Fernandez. She will later return for a session on the long-term sustainability of regulated online gaming, giving attendees both a regulatory view and a wider industry perspective.

The first panel, focused on entering the Philippines, brings together Arden Consult Founder and CEO Tonet Quiogue and GLI Managing Director APAC Richard Howarth. For new entrants, this session matters because it addresses practical issues behind market access, including requirements, compliance pathways and commercial fit.

A separate discussion on localisation will feature PhilWeb President Brian Ng, Casino Plus CEO Evan Spytma and DigiPlus Chief Global Growth Officer Erick Su. Localisation means adapting content, payments, user experience and marketing to local player preferences, which often determines whether a product gains traction after launch.

The morning closes with a session on whether operators should outsource online expansion or build it internally. With speakers from Syntrii, Newport World Resorts and GameWorkz, that panel should help land-based groups and digital entrants compare speed, control, cost and specialist capability.

Sustainability and Regional Expansion Take Centre Stage

The afternoon agenda shifts from market entry to market durability. CiG CEO Andrew W Scott will moderate a session with Fernandez and NYCE Founder and Executive Chairman Harmen Brenninkmeijer on building a sustainable regulated sector rather than chasing short-term revenue at the expense of long-term stability.

That theme matters across Asia-Pacific, where regulators and businesses are balancing growth with player protection, tax collection and credible oversight. A market that grows too quickly without durable rules can become harder to supervise, harder to invest in and less attractive to established suppliers.

The programme then widens to other jurisdictions through a panel titled The Rest of Asia. Speakers from Addisons, Entain Australia and New Zealand, and MediaPro will assess where regulated iGaming could expand next and how the regional picture is changing beyond the Philippines.

Special Class BPOs Highlight a Distinctive Philippine Model

The final core session examines suppliers and Special Class BPOs, a notable feature of the Philippine online gaming framework. These business process outsourcing entities support industry operations under a defined regulatory structure, making them relevant to technology vendors, service providers and international groups building local capability.

For suppliers, this discussion could be one of the most commercially useful sessions of the day. It speaks directly to how market infrastructure is being assembled, who can participate and where support functions sit within the broader regulated ecosystem.

Why the Summit Matters for the Industry

The CiG iDEA Summit arrives as the Philippines strengthens its position as a reference point for regulated online gaming in Asia-Pacific. For B2B companies, the event offers a concentrated view of regulation, product adaptation and operating structure, all within a single day.

It also reflects a wider shift in the region. As more jurisdictions assess formal regulation, the market conversation is moving beyond simple access and towards execution, sustainability and local relevance. That creates fresh openings for platforms, compliance specialists, payments providers and content studios that can meet jurisdiction-specific demands.
