How Influencer Marketing Fuels iGaming Growth

Influencer marketing has become a practical route for iGaming brands entering new regions. The model works because local creators translate a product into familiar language, humour and cultural references. That gives operators and game studios a faster path to attention and trust than broad, generic campaigns.

Mike Weitzman, CMO at NGM Game, outlined this shift in comments shared with JESTER. His view is clear: the right creator does more than generate clicks. They explain the product in a way that fits the market and helps a new brand feel relevant from day one.

Why Local Trust Matters

In slots and casino, brand trust is shaped by recognition and credibility. A creator who already has a relationship with a local audience can introduce a game or platform with more context than standard display advertising. That matters in markets where players are saturated with similar promotional messages.

For operators, this means influencer activity is not only a traffic tool. It is also a market entry mechanism. A well matched creator can reduce friction at launch, improve message clarity and make a brand easier to recognise in a crowded field.

What Makes Influencer Content Effective

Traditional advertising often struggles to show what makes an iGaming product distinctive. Creator led content can solve that problem through game reviews, live streams, entertainment formats and first hand demonstrations. These formats show visual style, pacing, mechanics and player experience in ways banner campaigns cannot match.

For slot developers, that advantage is especially important. A new title needs more than a logo and promotion. It needs atmosphere, emotion and gameplay context. Influencer content can deliver all three while keeping the presentation natural and market specific.

Selection Is Now About Relevance, Not Size

Weitzman points to a clear change in how brands choose creators. Audience size is no longer the main benchmark. The stronger measure is contact quality: whether followers trust the creator, whether the audience fits the target market and whether the creator can speak about the product in a credible way.

This shift creates better discipline for acquisition teams. Smaller creators with engaged communities can outperform larger accounts if their audience is better aligned with the brand. For suppliers and operators, that means media value now depends more on fit and engagement than headline reach.

Where The Model Is Heading

The next phase of influencer marketing in iGaming will centre on transparency, deeper analytics and longer partnerships. Short, one off placements are giving way to ambassador programmes where a creator becomes part of a wider communications plan. That supports consistency and gives brands more time to build familiarity.

For the sector, the opportunity is clear. Players respond to content that feels honest, entertaining and informed. Brands that build structured creator partnerships, track performance carefully and adapt to local audience behaviour will have a stronger base for sustainable growth.
